OK, so this is my favourite film of all time. I've seen it countless times on TV, video and DVD over the last 25 years, but have never seen it on the big screen.... ....UNTIL NOW!! And. It. Was. AMAZING!!!!! Seriously, it was like watching the film when it was brand new! Crystal clear picture and sound, too. And, despite having seen it hundreds of times, I jumped at least twice, and was sat on the edge of my seat by the time the film reached its conclusion! Still a fantastic movie!

Sounds like you had a great time daren! Was it in 3D? That would be something! Haven't seen this film for years, the only problem is, like kunuma, I find myself rooting for the shark

Yep, one hundred per cent on the side of the shark! ;D Like 'snakes in a plane' - I'd have thrown all the people out so the snakes could travel comfortably! One thing I hated about knights on white horses in the old days was their habit of cruelty to dragons! Would be torn nowadays I think whether I would still want a knight to turn up on my doorstep or would rather have the dragon! Making myself unpopular on another forum currently (how unusual lol) because they put up a nasty picture of a bloke who had just killed a beautiful and harmless boa constrictor - what is it about blokes and killing things (well things that can't fight back anyway!)

No, thankfully not in 3D*! But it was WAAAAAY more awesome than that!
*In all honesty, though, I would love to see Jaws 3 in 3D - or maybe remade with newer technology...?

Did they ever do a 3D version of Jurassic Park? That would be scary! Trying to remember if we have had a thread on favourite films before, if not it might be fun to start one.

I can't remember where I first saw this I think I was too young to see it at the cinema (what year did it come out Daren?) and we didnt have video players that far back so must have been on the telly!
Still has the most iconic signature tune of any film!

Crumbs! Just looked up what year it first came out!! Could hardly believe it - 1975!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now Jurassic Park I loved too, especially the brilliant bit where the dinosaur bites the bloke on the loo in half - hilarious! Adored those spitty ones! Didn;t think the sequels were as good as the first one, but they hardly ever are really - with the exception of Star Wars ( the first three I mean, I don't count the later kids' versions! ) The first Alien was the best too, but I think that the latest sequel (well prequel really) is a pretty good effort (Prometheus)

Rarely do sequels match up to their originals - however, ALIENS was awesome! Wasn't so keen on Prometheus, mind... I was just saying today how old I feel, since I saw the following films originally in the cinema: Ghostbusters 2 (1989) Edward Scissorhands (1991) Hook (1991) Beethoven (1992) Batman Returns (1992) Jurassic Park (1993) I saw another of my favourite films in the cinema - Battle of Britain - in 2004. It originally came out in 1969. And yes, Jaws was 1975. And I have now seen it TWICE on the big screen!

I haven't seen Prometheus but my dad has (he's a sci fi nut)and he slagged it off quite a bit! I also went to see Ghostbusters on the cinema when it first came out (BTW must have been a lot earlier than 1989 cos I was still at school when I saw it and I'd left by 1989!) and all the Star Wars (original) ones. And you think you feel old daren! Loved Jurassic Park too, especially as all the pillocks got munched by dinosaurs ;D

The original Ghostbusters was 1984... Yeah, Prometheus was nice to look at visually, but you could steer the Titanic through some of the plot-holes...!

Yeah, Prometheus was nice to look at visually, but you could steer the Titanic through some of the plot-holes...! Unfortunately quite a common problem with films nowadays, they get so excited planning all the big spectacular scenes they forget little details like plot and characterization

I'm a proper sci fi nerd, but after watching it I felt that science fiction action films had pandered to the 'youngsters' of today by becoming all action, very little fiction, and absolutely NO science!! Don't get me started on their ideas of genetics - but seriously, the original Star Trek had more science! Ooops sorry Daren have taken over your Jaws thread

Thats exactly what my Dad said, now I know almost zilch about any science that isnt biology (failed both physics and chemistry at school!) but even I am shocked by the lack of it in sci fi films. yeah sorry Daren hope you dont mind we have gone off on a tangent here - we always seem to
