Hi all one for the bird experts amongst you ;D Can you identify the birds which are all names of horse and pony characters in various books. To make it easier for those of you who don't know a duck from a dodo I've included a list of all the books so you can match them up to the birds featured. One bird is mythical - I'm sure you can work out which! 1 point for identifying the bird correctly, 1 point if you can identify the equine character in the book, bonus point if you can match them both up. Winner gets the title 'PMBL BIRD BRAIN 2012' ;D ;D ;D BIRDS - EQUINE CHARACTER NAMES 1. COCK ROBIN - SILVER SNAFFLES BY PRIMROSE CUMMING2. Well done to all the bird brains so far ;D Bit of a factoid for you. Before doing this quiz I always thought the title 'Water Wagtail' was a bit weird but now I have discovered that a water wagtail is another name for the pied wagtail. (lovely little birds see a lot of them here). Wagtails certainly are confusing to name correctly as the grey wagtail is actually largely yellow! (and yes there's also a yellow wagtail!)

Oh forgot to say its not Phoenix from Shelta series, but a different bird. I actually forgot there was a Phoenix in the Shelta series. In any case its the other word for a phoenix! Sorry for taking so long to answer this. I keep logging in then forgetting to log out & closing up the laptop to go out, so it looks like I'm actually there when I'm not!

but the remaining photo looks to me like a baby brambling!! Its not but its a hard one. I didn't even know what this looked like I got it off wikipedia so hopefully its correct! You may be better off working out the ponies' names left over in the books and get to it that way. Here's a clue - the pony in one of the remaining books is known by 2 different names, one is the bird name, the other name is perhaps more well known.
