I liked this book! I thought it was a fun read and slightly different from the norm as it centres on individual characters and how they behave and react before, during and after the gymkhana. The characters are pony book cliches as they are the usual timid "I've got the needle" , boisterous vicarage children and rich show off types but there's a bit of humour and the story zips along nicely. I've given it 3 horseshoes

I really like this book, and I like the author who is much under-rated. Her books remind me a little of JPTs. They have similar characters, similar plots and also a similar humour. This is perhaps my fav book of hers, as I like the way it looks at a single event thru the eyes of a number of different people. Its a bit like CPTs The Horse Sale altho with a gymkhana rather than a sale as the pivotal event. Its definitely worth a read.
I give it 4 horseshoes.

I read this one about 3/4 years ago now and remember really enjoying it.
I agree with Claires comments about her being under rated as an author, If you enjoyed this Rosie you would probably like her books about the Marsham family and If Wishes were horses is also very good but i think one of the more expensive to buy.

I'm not as keen on If Wishes Were Horses as the Marsham family ones they are much easier to find and cheaper (apart from the last one), especially the editions with the hideous orange jackets!
