Reviews
Have now got all the reviews on the forum so please add your comments in the reviews thread if you have anything to say about these books! Don't forget you can also add your own reviews too and if you havent got much time they can be as short as you want!
The review page on the website is getting a makeover and I will also be adding links to garej's reviews on her blog and to another site which has some other reviews.
The latest review I am working on is Sheila Chapman's Pony From Fire which I will be adding shortly
New Author Category - Caroline Akrill
Have added Caroline Akrill to the author info section. You will see it when I next update the website in a couple of days time

Website last updated yesterday. The reviews page has been updated and have added a Caroline Akrill section. I have also been adding a lot more pics of books to the different author sections. Hopefully in time I will have a pic of every book by all the authors featured on the site (as well as short summaries of the plots).
I am working on a section on Marguerite Henry so if you have any info/comments on this author please can you add in the comments thread, thanks!

Latest website update.
I have been adding lots more pics and info to most of the author information links. If anyone sees any gaps that they could fill with a picture they have I would be very grateful!
The site has a Chistmas theme with a page of puzzles, quizzes and games and some other Christmassy links.

20th January 2008Latest update Have had a complete overhaul of the author and books section of the site. Changed it around quite a bit. I now have four sections on the various eras of pony books from 1920s to modern books. I also have lots and lots more authors, tho most arent getting a full page at the mo. Thanks for all the pics, etc, everyone has sent. I am now working on an American pony book authors page. Also still working on the adult authors one which has got a bit neglected with doing other things. Unfortunately got some sort of technical problem in which a couple of the pages have come out a bit odd. Hopefully I will get this fixed. If you want to check out the new sections please visit the site at ponymadbooklovers.co.uk

16th April 2008
Latest website update. Have finally managed to get the Adult Horse & Pony Books Sections finished hurrah! Also now have both and American and Australian sections, although these are very much in progress and will be added to when I have done more research.
A slight technical problem (I seem to be beset with them!) on the books and author info page if you are clicking on the A-Z list of authors...for some reason for authors from P downwards you have to click ABOVE the name not on it. The links do all actually work but nothing happens if you click on the name itself. I am trying to fix this. Keeps me out of mischief anyway!
To visit the site click on the link below this post

Sorry folks should have put it in the website news section too. Unfortunately still can't get the site up and running. I keep pestering my hosting provider Lycos but they don't seem to be doing much to sort out the problem. Will step up the pressure next week or if no luck will see if I can get a new host. I'm actually quite lost without being ablr to work on the site, good job I've got addicted to howrse to fill the gap!

31st May 2008Hurrah website finally back on-line. OK it was a little bit over 48 hours but had to re-install lots of software and other things, without the use of my laptop! There may be a few small faults due to using a new system but hopefully any wrinkles will soon be ironed out. In general it seems to be working OK. Breathes a huge sigh of relief......

30th October 2008Have just noticed that some of the author links are not working on the site if you are using Mozilla Firefox as your browser. They seem to be fine on Windows Explorer, so if you want to look at any links please use that browser. Not sure what the problem is. It may solve itself shortly as these things are sometimes wont to do but if not will contact my server provider to see what's up. There's always something....

WEBSITE IS OFF-LINE
I am in the process of swapping my website to a new hosting provider (Strato) and the site is unfortunately off-line at the moment due to the swap-over. You will just get a Strato message if you try and access it. Not sure how long it will take, hopefully only a couple of days. Will keep you posted when its back up and running again.

24th February 2009Apologies but still not sure when my site will be back up and running. Apparantly 100s of people who have tried to transfer from Lycos to Strato (as I have) have been left high and dry and unable to get their sites back on line. I have tried emailing both of them with no response and was unable to get thru on the phone either. Am really fuming because I sell through my 2 websites and advertise so I am losing money as well as not being able to provide the information to everyone. I will update this when I know more about the problem...watch this space.

Thanks kunuma, its not the technology at fault tho its the stupid companies who take your money and then cant be bothered to provide any service. It seems that its the fault of Lycos who has not released the domain names so the new host cant er host them! And because Strato has been inundated with emails and complaints it has stopped replying to them!

2nd March 2009
Website (partially) back on-lineHi folks just to let you know have got the website back, well of sorts anyway. The main body of the site works and the external links however most of the internal links (mainly the author pages) will not work yet. This is due to boring technicalities which I will not bore you with. Suffice to say all the technical stuff is completely different to what it was on the old web host. It only took 10 days for Strato to contact me with the new settings I needed so I am not holding my breath if I ask them for any more information. May have to bumble along and work it out for myself Somebody tell me why I started this talk about self-inflicted misery ;D

Well I have managed to work it out but will take a while as I have to manually configure about 100 sub-domains and create sub-directories for them! Dont worry if you dont understand that: I think you will have got the drift that its gonna take a while! Do you ever have the feeling that you are running like mad just to stay in the same place?

That went straight over my head, well the technical bit anyway. Poor you Claire sounds like a lot of work - you'll have to buy yourself one of the horses suggested on another thread to cheer yourself up!

Well zoe, she says putting on her teachers hat, just about every page on the website has its own sub domain. These are all contained in sub-directories on a special program that you use to upload the content to the site. When I moved web host all the sub directories disappeared! So I am having to manually set up a new one for each page and then configure it. I have done quite a few and am onto 'j' in the authors but having to pack in now cos got a migraine coming on. So if anyone wants to look at any author beginning with K onwards you've had it ;D

We've got a very clever mod!! ;D The only bit I understood was migraine, I understand those only too well! Have you tried these various triptans Claire? They work by shrinking the blood vessels in the head, only trouble is, they work when you take them, but then the migraine rebounds 24 hours later! This is a cycle that can then carry on for days! BUT on some people they do work and don't rebound! I've got anesthetic patches for my joints, and am thinking of making a cap out of them!!

Dont you worry your heads about it girls. I only learnt about it cos I had to and they never give you any help. Just annoyed that I am having to do it all manually when it was done automatically by Lycos.
