Having another go at 4...is it that both authors used pseudonyms? Golden Gorse was Muriel Wace, and Heather was Joyce Mary Vivian.

14 - both authors are women? Is Lynn one of those names, like Leslie and Robin, which are always female in the US, but can go either way in the UK?

Primrose Cumming and Sheila Chapman both wrote books called mystery pony. In primrose Cummings case it was the US title of one of the books and I can't remember which although yes i did buy a copy a few years ago thinking it was a rare discovery lol (like when i bought Last Summer To Ride!)

The only thing that I can think of (and I am probably wrong) is that Primrose Cumming and Sheila Chapman have had books published when they were teenagers.

If susan isn't on the right lines with the authors' names, is it the horse breeds involved. Arabs doing dressage?
