Jumping guinea pigs sounds fun - would love to see that. We used to build jumps for my cats, tie a cat sweet on the end of some string and get them to chase it over the jumps. THey were very obliging!

I managed to nearly update all of my Breyer Traditional scale models (I say nearly because they need to have pictures with the riders and tack on). My backgrounds are scaled for Classic size models so I have tried my hardest to get as much of the background as I could. So I may have gaps in the background. My Breyers just sit on the shelf and I dont show, so it's not worth buying/making a traditional sized background for them. Unlike other scales, the majority of the horses are named, because they are based on real life horses. This set is called Riata Ranch Trick Riding Set, and is based on a real life place. It comes with a stunt bridle and saddle, rider and American flag (which I do have). The horse was named Sisco Kids Chex, so I call the horse Chex (much easier!). This set is called The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere, which is about a person called Paul Revere who rode from Boston to Lexington during the American Revolution to tell about the movements of the British Army. I dont know much about it, but there is plenty of more detailed information on the internet. The bridle is bolted on, so I cant remove it, but I can remove the saddle, so both are original. It also came with a man who is supposed to be depicting Paul Revere. The horse (well according to the box) was called Brown Beauty. This was sold under the name of Let's Go Riding Set. As well as the horse, you got a bridle, saddle, rider and small poster. The horse was named as Rosie, and the rider was called Amy. This is the Side Saddle set. The tack is original, and it also came with a rider. Like the Paul Revere set, the bridle is stuck on though the saddle is not. It is incredibly detailed, I have shown the other side, as in the saddlebag there is something lurking inside (see below). The horse on the box is named as Sweetbriar (which causes some confusion as I keep on getting it mixed up with the horse in Flambards!). This is what was lurking inside the saddle bag; a metal sandwich tin. Of course, no sandwich tin is worth anything without a sandwich This one is Llanarth True Briton, named after the horse of the same name. This is a Welsh Cob btw. This set is called Robert Vavra's Majestad, and the roses are original (though detachable). The horse also came with a CD of music. The CD combines classical music with horse sounds (neighing, snorting, horses galloping etc). There is also a booklet in the CD which has some stunning photography. Robert Vavra is known for his stunning equestrian photography rather than his music, so it is a very beautiful set (though I am not sure about the music though) to have. This is Seabiscuit. This was available when the movie came out, and they made Seabiscuit in different scales. This is the traditional one. This is Milton, modelled on the famous horse of the same name, mostly ridden by John Whittaker. This is Red Rum, modelled on the famous racehorse of the same name. This model was only made for the UK market and is only sold in the UK (it recently returned). I dont think this is the right mould for Red Rum though.

Last ones (for now, that is!). They're both Grand Champions. I don't really collect them, but they came in a lot where I wanted other stuff instead, so I kept them. This stallion was sold under the name of Lucky Chance, though I call him Pirate. He also came with some accessories and rider, though I only have his original saddlecloth, western saddle and bridle, brush, and haybales. This is Magesty who is supposed to be an Tennessee Walker. Unlike Pirate, she never came with any accessories. Oh and I took an updated photo of the bookcase this morning (apologies for the slight quality issue, but they were taken with the light on, as I have blackout curtains in the bedroom):-
