I didnt realise Arfa was part of his full name, thought it was a version of Arthur! Duh! I love him. Give him a cuddle from me. My baby ( a long time ago) was Domino. Got the pic of him when he was a foal as my avatar. He was the soppiest pony in the world.

Nice photos seahorse. I used to have a Welsh pony before the kids I think Claire used to have one too. We should start a Welsh pony appreciation society. Would put on some pictures of my own but its all far too complicated for me...

Nice pictures.
I dont have a Welsh pony, but my uncle used to have some, and there is a Welsh pony (sections C and D) stud near my parents.
Also, there is a Welsh pony stud breeding part B's and partbreds in the next village to me.

Oooh Welsh pony stud my idea of heaven! ;D
I didnt actually own a Welsh unfortunately but I did used to ride some when as I was a kid and stayed on a Welsh farm that bred a few. The one I mainly rode and loved to bits was Chime, who was a chestnut Welsh cob with flaxen mane, similar in colour to arfa but lighter chestnut. She sometimes even had a foal at foot some summers. Will see if I can find a pic of her.

Seahorse just wait till he's including you in games of chase and 'equine (or is that haflinger) pile on' and you will be wishing yourself back to the days when he steered clear! ;D ;D

Arfa is absolutely GORGEOUS - what a colour! My little Welshie is in love with him, well, I had to describe him to her, as the pooter lead wouldn't reach the field, but she seemed impressed!! ;D She's a liver chestnut.

Hmmmm - now that isn't so easy as pinching them off the web - I think it involves strange things like scanners and digital cameras!! I'll see what I can do though! She is a Section B, but not a pure bred one, as she has what they call show pony blood in her as well, she looks like a Section B, but slightly finer. She is a rescue pony, and isn't 'technically' mine, but I'm hoping!

Arfa only became mine technically recently fell in love while showing him inhand, Viv get trying to give to me she a freelance teacher and small dealer Arfa is nearly unsellable due to his little habbits like cribbing and refusing to come in, hes one of those ponies who could end up in wrong home, but I would not take him then I thought what the heck life to short. I give him back if I ever cant keep him so is guarnteed a home for life as much as you can

Life does have some weird co incidences - talk about Fate! I was looking to see if there were piccies of relatives of my little Welshie on line, and found her pedigree, only to discover that because the show pony lines such as Bubbles, go back to Arabs, she has the SAME great grand father as my adored Arab, who I lost after 28 years, which broke my heart so badly that I never wanted another horse, or even rode again. I would never in a million years have realised they were related! Nor probably ever noticed without having been on here and started playing with photos.

That is so very sad but at the lovely, have got a tear in my eye, this may sound a little strange Viv who gave me Arfa had a New Forest who every one loved he was a fantastic pony. I knew him form when she got him untill she told he had to be put down we were flat mates at the time. I somtimes think Afra has a bit of Hoff in him with the things he does. when hoff went his ashes were brought to the flat and one day I went in to Vivs room and had a feeling hoff was not happy, she said the same we realised she had moved his ashes while cleaning he hated being moved, I am not mad honest

I have always believed that my connection with, and love for, animals was a tiny window into a part of the universe that humans had forgotten how to look through. After all, on a spiritual level there is the saying that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in our philosophy (excuse misquote Shakespeare!!) but on the scientific level, matter is neither created or destroyed! Either way - I believe you seahorse!

Missed this conversation last night prob a good thing or I would have been in tears too. That was amazing kunuma, finding they were related. I know how you two feel. I dont think non-horsy or non-animal people realise how it can devastate you when an animal dies. I used to talk about it with my friend as we had both lost our beloved cats. She had been in a terrible state, even had a breakdown, and I still havent really got over Gizmos death which was 5 years ago. Sorry hope I'm not being maudlin. We used to imagine a place like you seahorse where all our animals were together again waiting for us. I am not religious but sometimes wish a such a place existed. Reminds me of a lovely but sad bit in one of James Herriots books where a man is dying and he wants to know if animals go to heaven because if they don't he doesnt want to go either if his pets wont be there.
