Going back to no. 19 and follwing haffy's line of thought could it be Pcoketful of Ponies by Jean Cree? I havent actually seen the book but the title seems right!

A few clues:
4 - think author is from Iceland (sorry Claire). Initials K.R. (quite modern) 10 - story about a family and their ponies (second in series) Author initials - J.C. 15 - an instructional story. Author initials M.N. 20 - collection of short stories, A.B. illustrated. Author - D.M.G.

10 is a judith Campbell book...is it the Merrow ponies or something like that? If not it's the other one by her.
