12 is The Midnight Horse by Monica Edwards. As there's a black horse below I will use my deductive powers and your clue to guess that may be the other one with the same title But if it's correct I don't know the auhtor.

Well deducted darkhorse, yes the 2 Midnight Horses are 7 and 8. The other one is the Sandy Lane series one.
I'll try and think up a few clues to help you get the remaining ones.

2 is Dark Horse by Rumer Godden and it goes with 15 Dark Horse by Jenny Hughes (you were spoiled for choice with Dark Horse...there must be half a dozen at the least!)

Yeah there's a lot of Dark Horses. I think that's the 2nd most popular title for a pony book. There's one title that actually crops up even more and it's the last title to find in the quiz.
