Excellent susan 15 is correct.
I think there is a bit of an American bias to the answers in this one, seems to be more US titles with food in them than British - and I thought it was Brit pony books that were obsessed with food! ;D

Ha kunuma you missed the clue early on re. the chestnuts as Rosie had correctly identified them. I take it you don't eat much Italian food. I love basil, and pesto....yum... Sorry stomach taking over! ;D Back to topic, sarah well done correct for those two and yes susan it is the Jo Sykes book.

Could the other one for 21 be The Chestnut Filly by Primrose Cumming? I love Basil too Claire but I can't find the answer to that one Googling only comes up with Basil Brush! ;D

or Bucking Chestnut by Joan Hallett
I thought conker was another name for chestnut?
|
|
|
Post by Claire on Mar 7, 2011 20:41:15 GMT 1
I was actually thinking of The Bucking Chestnut, forgot about The Chestnut Filly!
Conkers are from horse-chestnuts which are not edible. But tbh they look just the same - tho I doubt you would get them at the local supermarket! ;D

Chestnuts aren't really common in the US at all....we had a horror show of Chestnut blight that killed off the vast majority (we're talking billions of trees here) of the American Chestnut. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chestnut_blightKind of a case study of why it's a REALLY BAD IDEA to bring non-native living organisms into your country
