No 3 looks so familiar - I am sure I have got it. I think it is Copper Horse by Captain C H Dent, and Copper Horse was briefly illustrated by Lionel Edwards.

It has quite striking colours which is what made me think of it.
The first one is a Silver Brumby book, I think South?

Right - some clues:
7) Set in a school. Author wrote 3 titles - more common in USA - one very expensive due to being illustrated by a very collectible illustrator.
8) Main character is Pippa who has to learn to get on with people who are not as horsey as she is! (Poor girl)
9) Which are better - horses or wheels?
16) The season of a big conspiracy
18 - Yes a Jackie book - something we would all like to do
19) Yes another Jackie book - lots of work for Jackie in this book
20) Author better known for illustrating other people's works (tales set abroad) Also a great dog illustrator
21) Wrote under a Psuedonym - 2 books - one featuring gypsies (and this one)
22) First of a series for younger readers about a small boy.
23) A piece of tack from abroad
25) Think of one of the four paces.

Thanks for the clues sarah Hope you had a good Christmas. 9 is Horseshoes and Handlebars and 16 Summer of the Great Secret. Recognise them now with the clues. I think I know a few others now too but I'll give someone else a crack at the whip. BTW will move this thread back to the general quiz section as I am moving the Christmas sub-board elsewhere now its all over. Sorry its been back and forth a bit sarah!
