The Cave in the Cliff sounds good....will have to add it to my list! A quick hunt round lead to discovery that it is set in France, so 18 would be R, if I'm not mistaken!

Correct susan it is set in France. The pony in it is called Monsieur Lapin. Luckily it's one of her easiest books to find.

I think Adventure on Ponies is set near the Dr Dolittle place, hence Dorset, so is that L?

I think 13, Noguls and the Horse is Northern Ireland (Ulster, Belfast?....it's the one with the bomb, right?) so that would be C
So the only one left would be The Pony Express (15) which would be Q (Ireland...Dublin?)
